Little Legacies
No one really looks at what the deceased was lacking in photos. They just want them back for one more hour, day, week…forever. Their only consolation is to see the person happy in those photos, especially the photos that they are in together and know that moment was captured to see later when it’s most needed.

One of These Things is Not Like the Other
“I’m not like anyone here.”
“I’m not qualified.”

Too Much World
Eventually, I crack. I celebrate the ones who seem to genuinely be happy for what I’m doing and love to see me happy while I mourn the relationships that seem indifferent or less than enthused and cannot bring themselves to set aside their own pain/anger/jealousy/envy/lack to be fully present.

No Dignity
“D-I-g-n-I-t-y.” I typed and the list of definitions popped up. All of them were almost identical.
Dignity - The state or quality of being worthy of honor or respect.

Dignity Everywhere
The hardest part of recognizing that you deserve to be treated with dignity is the discontinuing, pausing, and taking space from the faux relationships that you’ve had thus far. And this will create grief in your heart.

Resolver
“It’s an excruciatingly soul-emptying process at times but I notice that I sound like the New Year’s Resolvers leading up to January 1. Except my resolutions come a little more frequently.”

We Are Family
Sometimes you forget that you were once a child that ran around with other children goofing off and playing silly games.

Come In, Sit Down
“Come in, sit down.”
My grandmother would say this to me every time I came to visit her. In those moments, it wasn't a big deal. I showed up, she told me to sit down.

ILS Forever
“There was always a perspective she had to take you to a place of even temporary joy, relief, happiness, or…most importantly…HOPE.”

Day 14-Perspective
Imagine living your life according to the expecatations of others or in such a way that’s acceptable to someone that you are trying to please.
